The HB SIC Tile is a pressureless (atmospheric) sintered silicon carbide ceramic strike face tile engineered for NIJ Level III ballistic protection systems. Compared with conventional hot-pressed boron carbide (B4C) tiles, our atmospheric sintering process significantly reduces manufacturing costs while delivering comparable hardness (2500-2800 HV) and excellent multi-hit capability. When benchmarked against alumina (Al2O3) strike faces, the SiC tile offers 15-20% lower areal density, enabling lighter armor configurations without compromising protection levels.
